...Healthy baby!
And we really can't ask for more.
After much debate and analysis over whether we should wait until delivery to find out the gender of our little one or to find out in advance, after all the back and forth, pros and cons lists, etc. The baby decided for us. Today we saw our precious little one happily in my womb sucking a thumb... with legs firmly crossed.
Thanks for making the decision, little one. We will see you in February.
(unfortunately, the picture will have to follow.)
The wanderings, wonderings and wonderment of our little family.

Discovering a Past Life
Nostalgia is a funny thing. Especially when it's for a place and time you can't really remember.
I have only a few vague memories of our four years in Colorado, seeing as we moved away when I was 5. Going back to visit Littleton was thus more a discovery, rather than re-visiting of my past.
It was poignant for me to put things in perspective as I reflected that when I moved into this house on S. Elati St. over 25 years ago, I was about the same age that my son is now. The experiences and milestones I'm now witnessing in Xavier were what my parents saw me do in this house. I ran and jumped in that yard, played in that driveway, and probably threw a few tantrums within those walls and dropped food on those floors.
I was once little child and in seeing this place and seeing my son now, in a way, I'm able to glimpse my former self.

Animal House
We were recently in Colorado, as my family probably learned when pictures of our old house or the schools of their youth showed up in unexpected messages.
Among the many fun and new experiences we had was staying with friends who lived on 35 acres in the country. While there, Xavier made good friends with their cats and chickens. (Well... he sure thought they were friends, anyway. Not sure if the animals felt the same way! ;-)

You Know What They Say 'An Oreo a Day...' (or 2 or 10)
Cherry recently bought a pack of Double Stuff Oreos when craving and a prominent sale display created the perfect storm. For better or worse (depending on the mouth or waist's prospective) they are disappearing quickly.
Xavier may have also discovered a new love.
