We've been impressed with Xavier's growth and development, which seems to be skyrocketing. (We'll post shortly some photos and clips of him starting to crawl.) However one of the most intriguing developments we've been noticing is that of patience.
Most noticeably, if he's hungry and fussy but sees that we're prepping a bottle for him, he'll often calm down and just watch while we finish. He's made the connection that we understood and are working to address his needs, and so he doesn't have to cry in the meantime. It's a surprising (and encouraging) little bit of patience from a 6-month old.
He's certainly teaching us patience in many other ways too, but it's nice to see that we're all learning to better communicate and understand, and thus are more able to deal with the situations that arise in our lives.
